CTS Celebrates Irene Daniel’s 60^th Year of Continuous Employment

Elkhart, IN…CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS) acknowledged a major milestone today by celebrating Irene Daniel’s 60^th year of continuous employment with the Company.

Irene hired in as a jig operator at Chicago Telephone Supply (now CTS Corporation) on August 29, 1946.  She has worked for the Company for the last 60 years, and now serves as a quality control inspector in the molding department at CTS’ Automotive Products facility in Elkhart.

“Irene is an amazing person,” said Jeff McCurley, Vice President and General Manager of CTS Automotive Products, “not only is she a reliable, conscientious and hardworking employee, but her spirit and passion for both her work and her family serves as an inspiration for us all.”

Of course, given Irene’s remarkable work history, many might wonder why a person would choose to work so long and not enjoy retirement. But Irene has no immediate plans for retirement and still very much enjoys her work and what working for CTS has allowed her to accomplish in life.

“CTS has been good to me, and I think people still appreciate how hard I work, but I also have a purpose in life, I always say. Not just to earn money and pile it up; I made my money useful and helped other people.”

One of Irene’s biggest goals in life was to help put her two grandchildren through college. “I didn’t want my daughter and her husband to have as hard a time making ends meet as we did—back in our time. Today my granddaughter is a school teacher and my grandson is an electrical engineer.”

Irene concluded, “That’s what life’s all about, you know—helping your family, they are my life.”

Irene’s CTS family is equally grateful.

Tyler Buchanan, Senior Vice President of CTS Corporation offered, “I used to work with Irene; we’ve known each other for a long time, and she has certainly taught all of us a few things down through the years. We are so proud of Irene’s accomplishment and wish her the very best in her continued work here at CTS or in whatever future endeavors she should choose to undertake.”
